"... Little by little we have brought together thousands of pieces of information, indices and
indicators. This work is clearly necessary. We can currently say that that GAINDEGIA is an important benchmark for the Basque Country as a whole, in the social and economic field although our objective is not just to compile information. Statistical data is sterile if nobody interprets it or uses it and this is precisely what we aim to do with this publication. We want to put the data we have collected and interpreted
into social and economic agents’ hands so that they can make use of it.
This has been our motivation when producing this publication. We have structured the publication into six sections: Indicators on the Basque Country, the Year in figures, Expert analysis, Studies from 2007, Press file and Basic guide to socio-economic agents in the Basque Country. Two fundamental criteria guided our work. Firstly, publishing the most significant and complete information on the Basque Country and, in parallel, offering useful and accessible information, in a user-friendly and pleasant format. These were our guiding criteria and the agents who read this work will be able to tell us if we were right..." |
